Position Summary
The Bilingual Safety & Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s safety and food safety programs. This individual ensures compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards while promoting a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization.
Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive safety plans and ensure daily compliance.
Conduct routine safety walks, inspections, and observation reports based on operational needs and project duration.
Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Report workplace injuries and claims to insurance carriers and Cal/OSHA as required.
Maintain accurate documentation of safety procedures, inspections, audits, incidents, and corrective actions.
Serve as liaison between management and external agencies, including Cal/OSHA and insurance representatives.
Ensure proper documentation and regulatory compliance at all times.
Training & Employee Development
Provide bilingual (English/Spanish) safety training to employees on:
Safe machinery operation
Forklift certification
Emergency response procedures
Accident prevention
Operational safety standards
Conduct hands-on evaluations and refresher training as needed.
Collaborate with managers and supervisors to reinforce safety expectations and address concerns proactively.
Food Safety Oversight
Oversee and manage the company’s food safety program.
Maintain food safety records and compliance documentation.
Collect product and environmental samples as required.
Conduct food safety training sessions for employees.
Ensure proper recordkeeping and regulatory compliance related to food safety standards.
Additional Responsibilities
Transport injured employees to medical clinics or hospitals when necessary.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in both safety and food safety programs.
Promote a culture of accountability, communication, and prevention throughout the organization.
Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
