Open Positions:
Farm Crew: 2 openings, 35-40 hrs wk, April-Nov, $17-18 hr DOE + farm credit
Housing: Not included. We do have an onsite trailer available to rent for $500 per month, all utilities included.
We are seeking fantastic farm workers to join our farm crew for the season. We are eager to find a compatible farm worker, passionate about farming and ready to come grow amazing quantities of produce per acre on our micro farm. Farm Crew Job Description
Starbright employees are passionate about farming and eager to participate in the hard work and joy of growing food for our community. All positions will share farm work duties and will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of farming tasks including but not limited to bed prep., seeding, propagating starts, potting up, transplanting, weeding, trellising, harvesting, washing, packing and selling over 30 crop varieties. Crew members must be reliable, timely, and willing to commit for at least one full season. Starbright employees exhibit a positive attitude, hard work ethic and team mentality. Must be able to work long, hard days in both hot sun and wet cold while bending, lifting, carrying loads of more than 50#, kneeling and walking for extended periods of time. Employees will participate in selling at farmers markets and must be good with numbers and enjoy providing excellent customer service.
Preferred skills/experience
o Experience working on small produce farms or related experience.
o Experience operating farm equipment: BCS, Tractor, etc.
o Construction, plumbing, electrical work
o Greenhouse/Nursery starts propagation and care
o Comfortable with computers – email, google docs, word, excel
o Social Media: Instagram, Facebook, etc.
Requirements
o Entry Level Position no experience required
o Current driver’s license and clean driving record
o Must be able to commit for the full season
