Apex Environmental & Engineering, Inc. is a growing civil construction and environmental contractor looking for an experienced **Estimator** to join our team.
We specialize in **heavy civil, environmental restoration, underground utilities, and infrastructure projects** across California. We’re looking for someone who can help us stay competitive, win work, and keep projects moving.
We are open to **full-time or part-time**, and flexible work arrangements are available for the right candidate.
**Responsibilities:**
* Review plans, specifications, and project site conditions
* Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates
* Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
* Build and analyze labor, equipment, and material costs
* Identify risks and develop strategies to stay competitive
* Assist in bid preparation and proposal submissions
* Work with project managers and field teams during pre-construction
* Maintain cost databases and estimating records
**Requirements:**
* 5+ years estimating experience in civil construction, heavy civil, or similar
* Strong understanding of plans, specs, and construction methods
* Experience with takeoffs, cost analysis, and bidding multiple projects
* Proficiency in Excel and estimating software (Trimble B2W preferred)
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Valid driver’s license
**Preferred (not required):**
* Experience in environmental restoration or habitat projects
* Background in underground utilities, grading, or earthwork
* Experience working with public agency projects
