Enjoy the relaxation and accessibility of chair yoga while reaping the benefits of increased mobility, health, and happiness. Chair yoga creates a sense of community, fun, and relaxation. Yoga is like an owner’s manual for being human and chair yoga allows us to enjoy everyday life with increased balance, strength, and flexibility of the mind, body, and spirit.
In Hawaii, ohana (family) is key and kupuna (elders) are viewed with high regard and often called Aunty and Uncle. Chair yoga is ideal for anyone recovering from an illness or surgery before transitioning back to the mat, as well as kupuna or any folks who want to maintain a functional, healthy, active lifestyle.
This form of Yoga practice allows us to experience yoga asanas (poses) in a different and deeper way by practicing yoga from the chair which takes away the need to place weight on the wrists, shoulders, or knees and moves the emphasis to the core and form of the pose.
Rita makes yoga accessible to folks who might not otherwise feel comfortable taking yoga or might feel excluded due to physical issues.
