~ Purpose of Position: Journeyman Technicians are to be well trained and knowledgeable employees able to diagnose, inspect, repair, service and/or overhaul vehicle problems and perform common maintenance requirements.
~ Qualities: All Technicians must be able to clearly demonstrate their physical and mental ability to perform services required. They must conduct every aspect of their job in a highly ethical manner. They must have good verbal and written communication skills to explain their activities and must work well under pressure.
~ Qualifications: All Technicians must meet or exceed the standards set by the industry-recognized trade organizations at various levels of their education and training. Technicians must complete and/or maintain ASE master certification. Smog certification highly valued. Spanish language skills a plus.
~ Tools: Although Briggs Car Care Center is an exceptionally well equipped and up to date facility, Technicians are required to have the necessary hand tools needed to efficiently perform their duties. They must also have the ability and willingness to attend training classes. Technicians must be able to work a minimum and produce a minimum of 40 hours per week on a regular basis.
~ Areas of Responsibility: Depending on experience and certification level, Technicians' responsibilities include but are not limited to; a firm dedication to the company's mission statement, to company profitability, and to 100% customer satisfaction. Journeyman Technicians must work well independently and as a team striving toward common goals. They must also commit to continuously educating themselves through industry-recognized classes, seminars and tests in order to keep up with changes in the industry and new vehicles.
~ Specific Duties: In addition to performing quality repairs and maintenance services in accordance with company standards and productivity requirements, at times other tasks are also required of our Technicians such as: cleaning and organizing a work-space, attending department and company meetings and performance reviews, perform courtesy checks on vehicles, communicate with customers, attending training and certification courses, and (rarely) pick up or return customers and answer phones.
