Isn't it nice to know that good ole boy John L. Sullivan, who bills himself as being directed by God not to be a farmer, but a car salesman (seriously, in local a radio advertisement) has quietly removed a giant Heritage Oak tree and built a new parking lot in it's place? When his Dodge/Chrysler/Ram/Jeep dealership was initially built, the healthy oak tree was protected, even building a fence around it. Recently, with their inevitable expansion, they removed the tree and have paved over the area, even though heritage Oaks trees are protected and can only be removed by permit. Despite all of John L. Sullivan's local commercials portraying him as a caring country guy with humble beginnings, he manages to disregard the local history by paving over it.
A true "country guy" would have kept the tree as a nice shaded area for his vultures (I mean salespeople) to hang out under.
